Understanding Your MedChefs Rings

The MedChefs Rings help you focus on the foods that matter most for health.

Instead of counting calories, the Rings track key nutrition habits linked to better heart and metabolic health. Each Ring represents an important part of a healthy eating pattern, including fruits and vegetables, whole grains and legumes, fiber, nuts and seeds, and fish. As you eat throughout the day and log your meals and snacks, your Rings fill in, giving you a real-time picture of your progress.

The Rings work together because healthy eating is about your overall pattern, not any one food. Think of them as a team sport. A salad might help fill your fruit and vegetable Ring, while beans boost fiber and legumes. The more Rings you fill, the stronger your nutrition foundation becomes. No single Ring has to be perfect every day.

Your daily score shows how closely your eating pattern matches the MedChefs approach.

  • A score of 9–10 reflects excellent nutrition habits.
  • A score of 7–8 means you're building a strong foundation and moving in the right direction.
  • Scores of 4–6 suggest important nutrition gaps that may increase health risks over time.
  • A score of 3 or below indicates your eating pattern is missing many of the foods that support good health.

The best way to use your Rings is to check in throughout the day and look for one small improvement. Maybe it's fruit with breakfast, beans at lunch, or a handful of walnuts as a snack. Small choices add up, and over time those choices can make a big difference.
